8 Things Super-Successful People Do Differently (and Why They Work)

Have you ever looked at someone very successful and ask yourself “How did they do it?” There are definitely certain differences between successful ad unsuccessful people. And I am not only talking about being rich or something similar to that. I mean people who work hard to have a great body or being successful parents or great teachers. One thing I have learnt and it definitely make sense to me is that people have different habits. It is all about habits. If you look at successful people, their actions and rituals, their everyday rituals are completely different. They have developed unique behaviors and activities.

8 Things Super-Successful People Do Differently (and Why They Work)

“What we see depends on mainly what we look for.” John Lubbock

So true. Do you remember the Coca Cola commercial? The one where they show you a glass and it’s up to you whether you see it half full or half empty. I love this commercial because here you can tell how this highly successful company thinks (forget about whether it’s healthy or not, the company is a massive success) and it gives you a clue why they are so successful, right? It is all about our point of view. We are getting in contact with negative people or negative circumstances almost daily, but we can change the way we see things and how we respond to them. Successful people try to focus on the positive in their lives and that is why they attract more positive things towards them.

“When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself.” Dr. Wayne Dyer

If we constantly focus on others and feel angry because we don’t have what they have, it will become hard for us to get what we want. The problem is that we are sending our energy in the wrong direction. Successful people mind their own business, they are not interested in what others are doing or saying as long as it’s negative. They know their priorities, who they are and what really matters in life. They don’t judge and don’t care if they are being judged. Instead of feeling jealous, they focus on improving themselves.

“You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar

Helping others should be the golden rule. Sometimes even a little kindness can change someone’s life forever. How can we possibly expect the positive things coming to us if we are not willing to do anything for anyone? Successful people know the importance of helping others. They know the true meaning of life which resides in giving. They understand the value of not being a Go-Getter, but rather a Go-Giver. Being a Go-Giver will bring us happiness and satisfaction, it will fulfill our lives with positivism and don’t forget, karma always works.

“Success is a steady progress toward one’s personal growth.”  Al Tomsik

Successful people understand that success is impossible without progress. They know what personal growth means and how important it is for human beings. We need to find the right way so we can grow emotionally, mentally, spiritually or even physically. The best gift we can give to ourselves is to reach our full potential and to realize what we are capable of. Our personal improvement will result in healthy self-confidence which will strengthen our belief system.

“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.” Stephen R. Covey

Successful people try to understand others and to see things from their perspective. If you ask me, I think that this is one of the hardest things to do. It requires a lot of effort but it is also a true sign of strength. Successful people have this strength and they realize that they gain more with kind understanding than with negative judgement. This is true whether you demand respect from your business partner or you demand respect from your children. I would like to recommend you one specific book which will help you if you experience any struggle in this area. Name of the book is “How to win friends and influence people” from Dale Carnegie. This book has changed thousands of people’s lives and helped them to “win friends and influence people”.

“We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication and discipline.” Jesse Owens

Being dedicated and discipline is the key to success. Successful people understand it and they keep moving no matter what. They know that they have to work hard, especially at the beginning of their journey to get where they want to go. Discipline is a habit for successful people.  Days will become weeks, weeks will become months and when we turn around, it will be awesome to see how far we’ve gone. Go ahead and sweat, it will pay off.

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” T. S. Eliot

Taking risks while we are trying to make our dreams become a reality is necessary. You will face certain challenges where your only option will be to take the a risk. Successful people understand that courage is part of their success, they understand that sometimes it can result in failure, and this is not a bad thing. Failure is fundamental part of success, whether we like it or not. As long as we learn from our mistakes we will become better, smarter and stronger.

“Be patient and tough; someday this pain will be useful to you.” Ovid

We all know that great things take time. Unfortunately, overnight success doesn’t exist. When we face disappointment, we tend to question our abilities from time to time. In order to avoid this problem, we need to start believing in ourselves. Successful people understand the importance of being patient and having faith. They realize that the road to success is a bumpy one, but they always stay on track and they keep believing in the end result. So be patient and know that overnight success doesn’t exist.

Conclusion

We cannot blame anyone for our failures or circumstances. Successful people absolutely know that their success is in their hands and no one else’s. Being successful is a choice, so what is your choice?
