Death is something we’re all afraid of. Just the mere mention of the word triggers upsetting emotions and a fear of the unknown. We stop living today in the fear of death knocking at our door tomorrow. We forget that by worrying about the unforeseen we are ruining the beauty of the present.   1. Travel across the globe

Start by making a list of all the places you’d like to see in the next few years. Start with five places and keep adding a few more at regular intervals of time. A life spent traveling to new places, experiencing the culture of your destination firsthand, and making new friends is a life well spent.

  1. Do one thing every day that scares you

Try your hand at doing one thing that terrifies you the most every day. If you’re afraid of the ocean, try snorkeling. If you’re scared of heights, try skydiving. Do something every day that slowly eliminates the fears that have haunted you for so long.

  1. Learn a new language

Learning the language of a country helps you delve deeper into their culture, heritage and history. Learn at least one language before you die. Conversing in a foreign language is always fun!

  1. Make a difference in someone’s life

It’s never too late too make an impact in someone’s life, and no deed is too small or insignificant. Help at least one person selflessly, and with complete commitment. You will witness the difference it brings in your life for yourself! You could be a mentor to someone, and turn his/her life around!

  1. Give back to society

Your bucket list should include giving back to society, in any form. You could volunteer for a charity, raise money for social causes, or travel across the globe; spreading the message of peace, love and brotherhood. At one point or another, it is important to do your bit for the people around you.

  1. Make time for the people you love

We’re all caught up in hectic lifestyles, and we rarely make time for the people we love. It is important to let people know that you love them. Even a small gesture like spending the day with them doing the things they love is impactFUL. Don’t refrain from acknowledging your love for someone you love- do it before it’s too late!

  1. Rekindle the child inside you

I never want to lose the child inside me- the part of me that encompasses the most wonderful and cherished years of my life. Never stop looking forward to your birthday, running on the beach barefoot, and letting your imagination run wild. Tap into the child inside you, who is tugging at your sleeve constantly to get attention from you, but is ignored.

  1. Take up your dream profession

We’ve all had dreams for our future. Unfortunately, sometimes, our destiny does not align with our dreams and aspirations, and we end up doing something we never wanted to. It’s never too late-  if you always wanted to be a painter, you can still be the next Picasso. Answer to your true calling at least once in your life!

  1. Go on a trip- alone

I’ve always wanted to travel all by myself, embarking on adventures and figuring things out myself. That’s how this landed a spot in my bucket- list. I want to save up and travel to the destination of my dreams, alone. I want the feeling of solitude to sink in, and find out more about myself.

  1. Attend a high-school reunion

High-school is truly the best time of our lives, no matter how much we might hate it, to begin with. It’s the period during which we make innumerable memories, and meet people who leave a powerful impact in our lives. So, if it’s five or fifty years since you graduated, make time to organize a high-school reunion. Catching up with old friends and reminiscing about the most wonderful days of your life is something you’ll cherish forever.

  1. Learn how to play an instrument

It could be a guitar, banjo, ukulele, piano, or a violin. With the latter, you can choose an array of violins for sale and see which one best fits you. Learning how to play an instrument is very good for your brain and helps in improving your concentration.

  1. Laugh, and be merry

One of the postulates of your bucket list should be being happy. Happiness is a choice, and an option. Consciously pick happiness over sadness, no matter how hard the circumstances might be. Often, happiness is the key to finding a solution to an upsetting situation.

  1. Meet someone famous

We’ve all idolized a celebrity at some point in our lives. We’ve all dreamed about what meeting our idols would be like. Live with no regrets- try your hand at meeting someone famous! No matter how bleak the chances might seem to begin with, don’t lose hope. Who knows- it might just work out! I’ve always wanted to meet Taylor Swift, and I haven’t given up hope on the possibility. (P.S: Taylor, if you’re reading this, I’m your biggest fan!)

  1. Swim with dolphins/sting-rays

Swimming with dolphins and sting-rays has always fascinated me. There’s just something so alluring about this marine creatures. With their natural habitats being threatened, it is important to ensure that they are taken care of, and given all the love they deserve!

  1. Run a marathon

It’s not as easy as it sounds! Although it requires loads of preparation and training, running a marathon is exciting nonetheless. Moreover, some marathons support charitable organizations, and help to raise money for important causes, like cancer-prevention, helping the homeless, conservation of wildlife and biodiversity, etc.

  1. Adopt a stray

It’s always nice to adopt a pet, instead of buying one. Most of the dogs at shelters are rescued and have never had a safe, loving home and environment. Adopting a stray would be a noble deed!

  1. Go on a road-trip across your country

Going on a road-trip is definitely more exciting than flying. Although it is exhausting and time-consuming, driving across your country would certainly be fun! Besides, the sheer happiness that come with traveling with the people you love is inexplicable. :)

  1. Have the time of your life at an amusement park

Who says that amusement parks are meant only for children? Spending a day at an amusement park is a memory you’re sure to cherish for very long.

  1. Write poetry

Poetry is the music of the soul- it is a useful way to convey our sentiments and emotions. Write poetry at least once in your life- it will surely help you channel your emotions in a good direction, and will leave you with an end-product you will be proud of, and can call your own!

  1. Go stargazing

Observe various constellations and galaxies, looking up at a sky full of stars on a dreamy, summer night. It is indeed a great experience!

  1. Attend a concert

Attending your favorite artist’s musical concert should be on your list too. The adrenaline coursing through your body, as you sing along, is truly wonderful.

  1. Make a friend in a different country

It’s awesome to have a friend from a different country, who speaks a different language, and has loads to share about his/her life and culture. Making friends from other countries helps us become global citizens!

  1. Create an account, and write emails to yourself

Maintaining a journal is hard. We’re living in a virtual, tech-savvy world, and it is often easier to use technology to find our way around. Create an email account, and write emails to yourself everyday about your daily experiences. Reading it years later will help you relive all those wonderful memories! :)

  1. Spend time at an old-age home

You’ll learn the best lessons of your life from older people- who will share experiences filled with knowledge and profanity. Spend time at an old-age home, interacting with the inmates, and let them know that you care for their well-being.

  1. Love unconditionally, and live with no regrets

What’s most important is living without regrets and loving unconditionally. At the end of the day loving and living a life well spent, filled with beautiful, unforgettable memories is the most important thing.
