5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Caring What People Think

“To run your own race, do your own thing and live your own life is the mark of true success.” – Robin Sharma

What dreams do you have in your life? What is your biggest desire? Do you have people around who support you? The problem which I often hear is that people don’t feel support from their friends and loved ones. Instead of help, they receive words of discouragement and little or no understanding. The purpose of this article is to help you realize that you are in charge of your life, and it is your responsibility how you are going to live it. I understand that if the closest people around you don’t show support, it can be devastating. The point is that you already know there is no way to change others. We cannot expect them to react or behave in a certain way. Don’t worry about what other think or say, you run your race, and the truth is that no one can run it for you.

5 Reasons Why You Should Stop Caring What People Think And Do Your Own Thing

  1. You know your potential

Your ability to think, to act and to react is only in your power. Nobody can change your thoughts or controls them. As I always say, you and I, and the rest of the world, we all have unlimited potential. You can do anything, you can accomplish all your dreams, you can break the biggest barriers. You know what you want; you know where your heart belongs. The first thing you need to do is to seize your potential and your abilities. Growth only comes from constant progress and reaching your limits. Truthfully, there are no limits, only the ones you think you have.

Overcoming your limits is the best exercise to move forward. As an example, imagine that you can make $10 000 a month. Is that really your limit, because you currently believe so? What happens once you get to $10 000? You will, naturally, set up a new limit and do everything to accomplish it. The thing about human nature is that we are never satisfied. And honestly, this is what propels humanity forward. Your potential is a beautiful thing; it can take you to places you have never been before. Don’t limit yourself and don’t worry about others, they will admire you once you show them how it’s done.

  1. You understand that you are the creator of your happiness

I consider this as the biggest privilege you have in your life. Unfortunately,  not everybody understands that principle. We often get caught up in blaming others for our failures or problems. I want to tell you, with absolute confidence that if you are one of those people, you will never be happy. As I mentioned at the beginning, people’s attitude is something you have no control over. It can be hurtful, but it solely depends on the value you give to it. You decide for how long it will affect your life. You are the creator of your happiness. So next time, when people criticize you or try to discourage you, hear them out, then do whatever you consider is right and go get that dream.

  1. You know your purpose

Why do you do what you do? What is the reason for your actions? What is your purpose? Not everyone will understand it. And that is ok. As long as you know what you need to do, it’s all that matters. Some people believe they are here to help someone; some think they are here to make some magnificent change in the world. Whatever it is you feel you are supposed to accomplish, go for it with everything you have got. Don’t doubt your feelings, don’t consider others opinion. I am not trying to say something like don’t ever accept others opinion.

Let me give you an example. You are living in a HAPPY marriage, and you get a promotion which requires you to move on the other side of the country for a year, but only by yourself. In this situation, it is natural you will have a conversation with your partner and respect his or her point of view. On the other hand, if you live with someone who is never supportive then you should reconsider your priorities and what matters in your life the most. I believe that people who truly love you, will be there for you and support you, even if they don’t completely agree with you, and vice versa of course.

  1. You have a strong desire to fulfill your needs

Is there anything that’s missing in your life? Do you feel that you have an empty spot inside? The first thing you need to do in your life is to complete yourself. Don’t try to find satisfaction in others. It is the same as happiness. You are the only person in charge of the way you feel and think. Do you feel you need something? Give it to yourself. Don’t expect others to know it or maybe guess it. Don’t put yourself in a position where you are more than likely going to be disappointed. Running your race requires you to be strong and fulfilled from inside.

  1. You are the one who will make it happen

Not your grandmother, your father, sister or 5-year old son. YOU. You are in charge and responsible for everything that is going on in your life. Don’t feel stuck because of others judgement. To be honest with you, running your race isn’t an easy task. It takes courage and determination. I highly encourage you to find this within yourself (it’s already there, you just have to discover it). Your happiness comes from doing what you want and more important, accomplishing the things you’ve always wanted. If you feel satisfied, you are happier and more than likely, people around you feel better.

Be brave, don’t ever give up and get ready to run your ass off.
